Mission Statement
The University of West Alabama Foundation exists to support the development
of educational excellence at The University of West Alabama. It does
so by attracting and involving leaders from among the University's alumni
and friends. The Foundation's primary efforts are directed toward
attracting, receiving, investing, managing, and expending gifts and other
resources designated to support the programs of the University and to support
the University's service efforts to the West Alabama area.
The University of West Alabama Foundation was incorporated in 1992 as
a private foundation and granted a tax exempt status as described in Section
501(c)(3) by the Internal Revenue Service in February, 1993. The
Employer Identification Number for the Foundation is 63-1074127.
Contributions to the Foundation are tax deductible as provided in Section
170 of the IRS code.
The Foundation is managed by The University of West Alabama's Office
of Institutional Advancement, located in Webb Hall, Livingston, Alabama.
All financial records are kept on file in this office. An Annual
Report is also kept on file in that office and an independent audit by
certified public accountant is done every two years. The Foundation
is governed by a Board of Directors consisting of seventeen members with
the Vice President of Institutional Advancement serving as Executive Secretary.
